Windows Vista has increased security which causes problems for the QuickSnooker Installer
the following workaround will get QuickSnooker running under Vista
It's not very pretty - but it doesn't take long, and it works.
Run the install package - It will fail, giving the message 'cannot copy ungins.exe'
At the end of the install Vista will give the message - 'The program may need to be run as an administrator'
Follow the prompts to install the program again - this time it will *appear* to be successful.
However if you attempt to start it now, you will get a 'missing mswinsck.ocx' message.
To fix this problem:-
READ THE WHOLE THING BEFORE DOWNLOADING . . .you WILL need to Right click THIS LINK and choose 'save target as'
This part is important ! - Replace the .htm on the end of the filename with .bat and select your desktop like this:-
select your desktop
This should give you an icon looking something like this:-
![]()
Now,Right click the icon and choose 'Run as Administrator' like this:-

you should see two dialogue boxes stating that components were installed successfully.
You should now be able to run the game.
You may now delete the QSVistaFix.bat
Footnote: If you wish to uninstall QuickSnooker - run the 'ungins.exe' found in the QuickSnooker program group as 'adminstrator'
