The Rankings Explained.s a seperate set of rankings
  • All players start with 1000 points
  • The player with the most points is ranked #1
  • The rankings are a descending list, by points scored
  • Players who have not played for 30 days are removed from the rankings
  • Points are won or lost according to an 'Elo' rating system, Depending on the relative number of points of your opponent - you stand to win/lose up to 30 points
  • The better player (with the higher score) stands to win less - and loose more - according to a logarithmic formula based on the points difference.
  • When you are challenged - the amount of points you stand to win/loose are presented to you.
  • When you are considering challenging someone - you can view the potential points loss/gain (the same figures as above) - by single clicking the player.
  • The Elo system is designed such that your score (points) in the ranking are more of a reflection of your skill at the game - rather than how much or little you play.
  • If you're mathematically minded you can see the formulas involved at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system
